Inspiration & Design
I don’t know about you but I’m already thinking about autumn / fall and the days getting colder. It may be an unpopular opinion but I just love it when the weather gets chilly!
I’m already dreaming about getting my cosy knits, scarves and boots out of their summer hibernation.
One accessory that never comes in wrong when planning your winter wardrobe is the trusty scarf. I love them for wearing with cardigans during that transition time between seasons. As well as bundling up in one with a cosy winter coat.
I’ve started seeing a lot of colour blocking around. I don’t really follow trends, I like to stick to what I like and what I know suits me. But I LOVE this look!
So, I had to make a colour block scarf!

Beginner Friendly
Firstly, this modern, colour block scarf pattern is perfect for beginners. Like the Glass Pebble Scarf, if you can single crochet, you are all set to begin.
Relaxing
Secondly, this is the perfect project to complete while watching your favourite TV program or catching up with your Podcasts because of the easy, repetitive stitch pattern!

Customise
Finally, this is a great project to customise to your own personal colour choices. I’m already eyeing the cool blue shades below. That teal is dreamy!

The Yarn
I used the 100% alpaca yarn Drops Puna. I’m going to quote directly from the description on their website as I could not agree more!
DROPS Puna is a soft, light and beautifully warm yarn made from 100% superfine alpaca that’s perfect for almost any kind of garment – and that feels wonderful directly on the skin! Made from 4 threads of superfine alpaca, its fibers are untreated, which means they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment. This highlights the fiber’s natural properties, while it also provides a better shape and texture quality.
I was going to pick out a few of my favourite shades to show you but, I’m sorry, here’s all sixteen because they’re all beautiful!

The pattern includes some substitute yarn recommendations or you could use yarnsub.com to help you find an alternative.
Pin this colour block crochet scarf for later!

Pattern – Colour Block Crochet Scarf
A striped and colour block scarf in off white, pink and greys using a lovely 100% alpaca yarn. A perfect crochet pattern for autumn / fall and the winter days ahead!
This simple, modern scarf is crocheted using the single crochet front loop only stitch. This stitch gives a closed, cosy look with a pretty ridge. Crocheting in the front loop only means that the fabric isn’t quite as thick and stiff which means this scarf has beautiful drape when worn.
The yarn chosen for this project is affordable and is available in 16 gorgeous shades. It is soft and light but also warm. To add a little extra cosiness the yarn is held double.
Perfect for beginners or if you are looking for an easy and modern project.
