Inspiration & Design
As this is the second free pattern in this lovely duo, I won’t go into detail again on the inspiration and design for these crocheted cushions.
If, however you would like to read a bit more (or make both cushions!) just follow this link.
Reversible
Firstly, this crochet pillow cover has two different looks to each side and I can’t decide which I prefer. On each side we switch the dark and light shades around for two different looks.
It seems that I have a fondness for double-sided projects as my last pattern The Twilight Haze Blanket is also reversible!
Granny Squares
Secondly, this is essentially two large granny squares stitched together. And who doesn’t love a granny square? They are so fun and so quick to make.
Customise
Finally, this is a great project to adapt to your own tastes. Like the Sage & Blush Wall Hanging, I can see this looking lovely in so many different colour combinations!
The Yarn
I used the new Lion Brand Hue + Me yarn. Perfect for a crochet cushion pillow pattern!
This yarn range includes modern, neutral and heritage shades. And I honestly don’t think you can go wrong in choosing any of them.
The pattern includes some substitute yarn recommendations or you could use yarnsub.com to help you find an alternative.

Pattern – Crochet Pillow Cover
A soft, chunky crochet cushion that gives a pop of subtle colour for your home.
This simple cushion is reversible, with opposite colour ways front and back. Made from what is essentially a large granny square!
This cushion has a “sister” project – Earth. The reddish pinks and greeny blues are a lovely contrast when styled together.
The yarn chosen for this project is affordable and is offered in a range of gorgeous modern colours. The 80% acrylic 20% wool mix is the perfect combination of softness, warmth and easy care.
Perfect for beginners or if you are looking for an easy and modern project.

SQUARE 2 Make another square reversing the yarn colours.
FINISHING Weave in ends and block.
SEWING With the right side of the squares facing each other, match up the edges and whip stitch around three sides. I stitched through the two outside loops of the stitches. Turn inside out, so the right sides are now facing outside, and insert the cushion insert. Carry on whip stitching the fourth side, stitching this time through the two inside loops. Weave in the yarn end making sure it is hidden within the project.
